2023 Projects

The City's 2023 street reconstruction projects are underway! At its August 16, 2022 meeting, the City Council approved a proposed plan to reconstruct approximately 4.5 miles of local streets.

Project 23-1

Approximately 4.5 miles of residential streets between Coon Creek Boulevard and Shenandoah Boulevard from 126th Avenue north to and including 131st Avenue.

Open House Information

Engineering staff hosted two public open houses to present project information and answer questions residents and property owners may have. The first open house was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in Civic Rooms A & B at the Coon Rapids Civic Center.  11155 Robinson Drive, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.  A second open house took place on January 24, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  This open house also took place in Civic Rooms A & B at the Coon Rapids Civic Center.  11155 Robinson Drive, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.  A neighborhood open house meeting was held on April 26, 2023, at Bison Creek Park from 5 - 6:30 PM as an opportunity for residents to ask questions and meet City and Contractor project staff.

Reconstruction Costs

The majority of project costs will be paid for by the City, with a portion proposed to be assessed to the benefiting properties. Public and assessment hearings were conducted on February 21, 2023, at 7:00 PM at City Hall.

Project 23-10 Northdale Watermain Replacement

Approximately 3,100 feet of watermain on Northdale Boulevard between Ilex Street and Quince Street will be replaced in conjunction with the Anoka County Mill & Overlay project.

Open House Information

Engineering staff hosted a public open house to answer questions residents and property owners may have. The open house was held from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Civic Rooms A & B at the Coon Rapids Civic Center.  11155 Robinson Drive, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.  

Reconstruction Costs

There will be no special assessments to property owners as part of the City watermain replacement project or the County mill & overlay work.
